Cake Drums and Boards
Cake drums and boards are used to mount cakes onto. The thick drums are usually used to form the foundation of a cake, with cakes being iced into the drum so that they can form an airtight seal around the sponge or fruitcake and prevent it from slipping. Cake boards can also be used to form the foundation of a cake, but as they are thinner than drums, can also be used to form the foundation of additional tiers to cakes.
