Fruity Flapjacks

This sweet baked bar made of rolled oats, butter, sugar and golden syrup is ideal for a quick and easy dessert if you’re short on time.

Ingredients and Method


  • 175g unsalted butter
  • 125g demerara sugar
  • 50g golden syrup
  • 300g rolled oats
  • 75g sultanas


  1. Grease a 7inch square tin and line with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 180 °C/fan 160 °C/gas 4.
  2. Heat up the butter, sugar and syrup in a small pan. Remove from heat and mix in the oats and sultanas until fully combined.
  3. Pour the mixture into the square tin and bake in the oven for 30 – 35 minutes or until it’s a light golden brown.
  4. Remove from the oven and leave to cool before serving.
