Sticky Toffee Apple Cake

This sticky toffee apple cake is ideal for the colder months and goes perfectly with a nice hot cup of tea.


    For the cake

  • 330g softened unsalted butter
  • 330g dark brown sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 330g self-raising flour
  • 3 tablespoons milk

For the cake topping

  • Jar of caramel
  • 3 x sticky toffee apples


For the cake

Step 1

Blend together butter and sugar.

Step 2

Add the 6 eggs and mix.

Step 3

Sieve in the flour and mix until combined.

Step 4

Loosen the mixture with the milk.

Step 5

Pour into a greased tin and bake until a cake tester/cocktail stick comes out clean when inserted into the middle (about 45 minutes).

Step 6

Leave cake to cool and then remove from tin.

For the topping

Step 1

Warm some caramel through in a bowl and pour over the cake.

Step 2

Decorate with the toffee apples and enjoy!
