Bread Baking Made Easy – Basic White Bread

Instructions

  • 500g Strong Bread Flour
  • 350ml Warm Water
  • 7g Fast Action Yeast (1 Sachet)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1-2 tbsp oil

Instructions

  • Scoop the flour into the bread scoop and level it out using a knife with a straight edge. Tip the flour into a mixing bowl
  • Measure a teaspoon of salt in the small spoon and tip into one side of the mixing bowl, adding the fast action yeast to the other side. Combine and create a well in the middle of the mixture
  • Measure and add a tablespoon of oil to the mixture
  • Measure and slowly pour the water into the well and mix to form a dough
  • Tip the mixture on to a work surface and knead for approximately 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic
  • Allow the dough to rise in a slightly greased airtight container until doubled in size
  • Pre-heat the oven to 220°C / 425°F / Gas Mark 7. Once doubled in size, knock the air out of the dough and shape
  • Place on a baking tray and leave to rise again for approximately 30 minutes
  • Place onto the middle shelf of the oven for 25 minutes or until the bread sounds hollow when you tap underneath
