Creating Chocolate Shapes Using a Dessert Decorating Mat

The Mason Cash Silicone Dessert Decorating Mat and Pen is ideal for creating decorative chocolate shapes to add the finishing touches to cakes and desserts.

  1. Temper your chocolate (See our tutorial on how to temper chocolate)
  2. Place the mat (smooth side up) on top of a stencil (if using) and fill the decorating pen with chocolate.
  3. Pipe out the chocolate following the template underneath.
  4. Cool the chocolate in a fridge and once hard, peel the silicone mat away to reveal a perfectly formed decorative shape to add to your cake or dessert.
