Ingredients and Method
Ingredients
- For the sponge:
- 2 very ripe bananas
- 100g peanut butter *has to be xylitol free as it's toxic for dogs
- 70g honey
- 175g of wholemeal flour
- 25g rolled oats
- 1 tsp of baking powder (optional)
- 200ml water
- 45ml vegetable or sunflower oil
- For the frosting:
- 300g of potatoes
- Dollop of honey
- 100g of fat free yoghurt or sour cream
Method
- Mash up the bananas as smoothly as you can, then add all your other wet ingredients into a bowl. Mix well and then sift in your flour, add in the oats and baking powder (if using) and mix. If the mixture looks really wet, add a little more flour, and if too thick – add a little more water or oil.
- Spread the mixture out between 12-14 Cupcake Cases and bake at 180°C/ 160 °C fan for about 22 minutes, until a skewer comes out clean.
- While in the oven, peel and boil your potatoes until fork tender, mash them up or blend for a smoother texture. Then add your yoghurt and honey.
- Top the cupcakes with the mash mixture, decorate with a gravy bone and let your pup enjoy!
