Ruby's 3 Ingredient Chapattis

This traditional Indian side dish is a great way to impress your guest at your next dinner party. With only 3 ingredients, you’ll never buy ready-made again.

    Ingredients and Method

    Ingredients

    • 2 cups wholemeal flour
    • 1 tsp salt
    • Half cup water

    Method

    1. Stir the flour and salt together in a large mixing bowl.
    2. Mix the flour with the water until it forms a firm dough. Pour the water in slowly to avoid using too much.
    3. Leave the dough to rest for about 15 minutes. Then, knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until it is smooth.
    4. Divide the dough into small balls and roll them out into round pancakes. Cook on both sides on a Tawa (Indian pan) till they are fluffy and brown charred spots appear on your dough.
    5. Add a dollop of butter and serve with your favourite curry or chutney.
